About Banana
Banana loved anything soft and fluffy. Every room in the house had a cosy cushion just for him, and he would always fall asleep with his nose tucked into the cushion or between his little paws. 🐾
Blankets were another one of Banana’s favourite things (soft and fluffy!). Whenever there was a big blanket around, he would immediately run over and lie right in the middle of it — like he was proudly claiming his new ownership!
Banana was only really well-behaved when food (and a lot of love!) was involved. The only command we ever successfully taught him was “sit” -- and honestly, that only worked when he wanted snacks.
Banana was the second dog in our family (yes, our first dog was called Apple hehe). When he first arrived, he was tiny and smelled like milk.
Maybe it was because he was the second dog in the family, or maybe because we were often away from home, but Banana was never the kind of dog who loves unconditionally and effortlessly. He loves others in a slightly awkward and uncertain way. For a long time, I wondered whether we had failed to give him enough security when he was a little puppy.
Banana spent most of his life waiting — waiting for us to come home, waiting for his evening walks, waiting for us to take him to somewhere fun. He often spent long days at home alone after Apple left as we all worked full-time. Every time I left, he would look at me with the saddest eyes.
In 2021, I moved to the UK. Whenever I returned, Banana would ignore me for the first few days, almost as if he was saying, “Oh, so you still remember to come back??” The day before he passed away, I left for Beijing. I did not realise that it was the last time we saw each other at the airport, and we didn’t really say goodbye properly. When guilt grows alongside love, someone stays in your heart forever.
About FlowNana Climbing
FlowNana began with Banana, a small poodle who brought endless joy and colour into our lives.
After Banana passed away in the summer of 2025, we wanted to create something that could carry a little piece of that happiness forward. At the same time, climbing had become a huge part of our lives and relationship. We met through climbing, spent countless days in climbing gyms together, and fell in love within the warmth and openness of the climbing community.
Today, we design and 3D-print colourful climbing-inspired accessories made to bring a little fun and personality into everyday life. We also just wanted to remember that little dog who has been with us for 11 years.
